Amics de les Arts kick off European tour
Starting in Paris on Thursday, popular folk-pop band to play five destinations before end of June
One of Catalonia's most popular music groups, Amics de les Arts, this week begin their European tour, starting with Paris on Thursday April 18.
The band will also visit London (April 19), Brussels (April 23), Luxembourg (April 27), and will finish up in Ordino, in Andorra, on June 20.
However, a sign of their popularity, the only concert for which there are still tickets available is the one in Luxembourg, as the others are all sold out.
On this tour the band are not doing any concerts in Catalonia because they are putting the finishing touches to their new album, which is due out in 2020.
Catalan standard-bearers
Originally made up of four members (Dani Alegret, Joan Enric Barceló, Ferran Piqué and Eduard Costa, who left in 2018), the folk-pop band first began making music in 2005.
Amics de les Arts burst onto the scene with the 2009 debut album, Bed&Breakfast, which became a Double Gold Album (over 45,000 copies sold) and spent 74 weeks in the charts.
One of the standard-bearers in Catalonia's new wave of pop music for over 10 years, the band's original lyrics give an ironic turn to everyday situations.
