'A palé': Catalan singer Rosalía delights fans with release of new single

Catalan singer Rosalía surprised fans on Wednesday by posting a teaser of her new song, 'A palé', on her Instagram account, leaving many expectant for Thursday's YouTube premiere.

Within minutes of its release, thousands of people had already seen the singer's latest work, and the clip neared the 18,000 viewer mark in the first hour.

A white-gowned and unibrowed Rosalía appears in the clip's first few seconds, expressively moving her hands – with her characteristically long nails –  and arms while swaying as she sings an introduction reminiscent of her collaboration with British musician James Blake.

The song quickly descends into a minimal trap beat, with the artist dancing and singing alongside masked production line workers in an industrial-looking setting that once again puts on display Rosalía's musical versatility.
