Hundreds of people attended a protest in the center of Barcelona on Monday evening to express their displeasure with both the Spanish and Catalan governments' latest Covid-19 restrictions, including the 10 pm to 6 am curfew in place in Catalonia since Sunday.

Organized by the far-left pro-independence CUP party and other groups who called for increased funding for public services rather than measures restricting individual freedom, demonstrators with other ideological leanings, including virus denialists, ended up attending the protest as well.

Around five hundred people remained after the organizers officially called the end of the protest, with a number of them making barricades and burning dumpsters near Parc de la Ciutadella, home to the Catalan parliament, and the Estació de França train station during clashes with the Mossos d'Esquadra police.
