Vueling, Barcelona airport's main airline, has launched five new summer routes connecting the Catalan capital with Montenegro, Albania, and new destinations in Italy and Morocco.

The company will set season operations between Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat airport to Tivat in Montenegro, Rimini and Salerno in Italy, Tirana in Albania, and Essaouira in Morocco.

All flights are scheduled between July and October. Operation to Tivat runs from July 1 to October 25, with three weekly flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Meanwhile, Rimini will see flights scheduled between July 2 and October 22, with two weekly connections, one on Wednesdays and a second on Sundays. Flights to Salerno will take off on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays between July 3 and October 25.

Vueling will be the only airline connecting Spain with Tivat, Simini, and Salerno and the only company flying between Barcelona and Morocco's Essaouira.

Meanwhile, Essaouira operations will span from July 3 to October 23 on Thursdays and Sundays.

From July 2 to October 24, four weekly flights will connect Barcelona with Tirana, scheduled on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

The airline plans to add three new aircraft to its base at the Catalan airport, offering 9% more seats compared to the 2024 summer season. It expects to reach 16 million passengers across its over 90 destinations.

The new routes "consolidate the company's will to connect Barcelona with unique international destinations," Jordi Pla, head of strategy and network, said in a statement.

The announcement, however, comes less than 24 hours after announcing the airline would cancel the Barcelona-Madrid route from March 29.
