Unemployment figures decrease 0.44% in February
Catalan unemployment levels now sit at 396,642 people
Unemployment rates have improved in February compared with January this year, with the number of people without work lowering by 1,734, a figure that represents a drop of 0.44% of unemployment.
In total, 396,642 people are now without jobs throughout Catalonia according to the Spanish Ministry of labor and social security.
By sector, unemployment in agriculture rose (274) and fell in services (1,982), industry (630), and construction (616). Catalonia is one of the eight autonomous communities that registered a decrease in unemployment compared with January.
The figures released by the Spanish ministry of labor and social security this Monday showed that youth unemployment, that counting people under the age of 25, sat at 31,191 people.
The improving figures come after Catalonia saw unemployment rates fall to under 393,000 at the close of 2018, the best records seen since 2007. For the full year 2018, unemployment fell by 25,000 compared with 2017.
