Spanish inflation edges up to 3% in February
Consumer Price Index rises for fifth consecutive month

Inflation in Spain reached 3% in February, up from 2.9% the previous month, according to preliminary figures released on Thursday by Spain's National Statistics Institute (INE).
This marks the fifth consecutive month that the Consumer Price Index (CPI) has increased, from 1.5% in September 2024.
The rising cost of electricity is a key driver behind the increase in inflation, compared to a drop in February 2024.
In contrast, fuel prices increased less this February than during the same month last year.
Core inflation – excluding unprocessed food and energy products – fell by three-tenths of a percentage point to 2.1%.
