Real estate sales fall 14% in October

Information published by the Catalan Ministry of Public Works shows that real estate transcations went down 22% in the third trimester after 3 trimesters of consecutive increases.

Madrid (ACN).- According to the Spanish Statistics Institute, the number of homes sold in October in Catalonia totalled to 3,358, showing a 14% drop compared to the 3,907 units sold in October of 2009. In the whole of Spain, there was a 17.7% drop. This contraction is occuring with only 2 months left to buy real estate with the current fiscal advantages. In addition, the Spanish Ministry of Public Works, which assumed the responsibilities of the former Ministry of Housing, said that real estate transactions in the third trimester fell by 22.4% in Catalonia when compared with 2009, after three consecustive trimesters of increases.
