Over 3.8 million workers in Catalonia in October
Provisional data, if confirmed, would be another record for jobs figures
Catalonia is seeing another record high for jobs figures this October, according to provisional data from the Ministry of Inclusion and Social Security.
By October 15, there were 3,800,278 workers contributing to social security, a figure that exceeds the absolute record for any month of October.
Last year, there were 3,714,672 workers registered as contributing to social security.
Never in Catalonia have 3.8 million employees been registered in one month of October.
If the figure is confirmed, it would be the fourth highest record in history behind the months of May, June and July this year, and would imply an increase of 13,087 workers compared to September.
The province of Barcelona had the vast majority of the jobs with 2.85 million, 75% of the total.
Girona had 369,187 and Tarragona had 369,187, while Lleida had 206,533 registered workers.
