Luxury liner 'Norwegian Prima' will depart Catalan capital for destinations including New York
Norwegian Cruise Line will offer routes with Barcelona as a base port from this autumn.
This marks the first time that the Catalan capital will serve as a starting point for Norwegian routes, the company said in a statement.
The 294-meter-long luxury transatlantic cruise liner 'Norwegian Prima' will set sail from Barcelona with space for 3,099 passengers and more than 1,500 crew members.
The first route that Norwegian will offer will depart on October 13, stopping in Valencia and several cities in France and Italy.
The cruise liner is also scheduled to make a transatlantic trip to New York on November 20.
