McDonald's Worldwide Convention comes to Barcelona
More than 14,000 McDonald's franchisees, suppliers and employees set to attend first assembly held in Europe
McDonald's Worldwide Convention kicks off in Barcelona on Monday. For the first time since their inaugural Worldwide Convention 1965, the fast-food franchise is holding the event in Europe.
The company has organized 30 conventions throughout the years, always in North America. The previous one was in Orlando, Florida in 2022.
The convention was set up so owners and operators from different McDonald's restaurants could meet and learn from each other. Since then, the attendee list has grown to include suppliers, employees and restaurant crew.
The event is described by the company as "an opportunity for McDonald's to celebrate collective successes, showcase diverse strengths, and plan for the future of the brand."
McDonald's is celebrating its 69th year as a franchise.
More than 14,000 people are expected to travel to Barcelona and attend the convention.
