Inflation increases to 2.3% in Spain, breaking downward trend
Last year's rate was over 10%, its highest registered point
Inflation in Spain increases up to 2.3% in July, breaking the trend it had for two months, according to preliminary data released by Spain's National Statistics Institute on Friday.
Prices have increased by 0.4 percentual points since last month, when Spanish inflation was at 1.9% during the month of June.
This increase is due to the rise in the prices of fuel, and tourist packages and the rise of holiday expenses, as well as a low decrease of the price of dresses and shoes.
In July last year, Spanish inflation reached its highest level in history with 10.8%.
Meanwhile, Spanish inflation increased up to 6.2%, three more tenths than last year.
