Inflation drops to 1.9% in Catalonia in June
Lowest number registered since March 2021
Inflation dropped 1.3 percentage points to 1.9% in June in Catalonia, according to figures made public by Spain's National Statistics Institute (INE) on Tuesday morning.
This supposes the second month in a row that the Consumer Price Index (CPI) figure has decreased.
Although the prices of basic foods are moderating, they still are 10% more expensive than this time last year.
This month's figure is the lowest it has been since March 2021. Only before the start of the war in Ukraine inflation was below 2%.
When compared with the month of May tho, prices have increased by 0.6%.
Inflation across Spain decreased to 1.9% in June as well, more than one percentage point lower than in May. The decrease was mainly down to fuel, electricity, and food prices decreasing.
