Girona airport is getting ready for the summer season. This year it will be connected with 47 destinations, nine more than last year.

As usual, Ryanair is the company that offers the most flights with 36 different routes. Additionally, Ryanair are connecting the Costa Brava facility to six new destinations that have never been connected with Girona before.

The new routes lin with Aalborg (Denmark), Beni Mellal (Morocco), Bari (Italy), Paderborn (Germany), Pardubice (Czech Republic) and Zagreb (Croatia). The rest of Ryanair flights will link Catalonia with the United Kingdom, Germany, and Ireland.

Most flights already went on sale at the end of last year, but since then, the airline has added three new destinations: the Danish city of Aalborg, Bari in Italy, and Frankfurt in Germany, which had already been available last year but is now scheduled again.

Jet 2, Transavia, TUI and Enter Air

Beyond the routes offered by Ryanair, this summer the company Jet2 has eight routes from Girona airport to British airports. Most routes are the same as Ryanair's, but it will also connect with Glasgow and Newcastle, where the Irish airline does fly to from Girona.

Dutch airline Transavia operates in Girona too, offering flights to Amsterdam and Rotterdam.

The Polish company Enter Air offers flights between Girona and the Polish cities Warsaw and Katowice.

Finally, the tourist package company TUI will also offer four connections with London-Gatwick, Birmingham, Manchester, and Brussels.

Until October, when the season ends, up to two million seats will be offered on flights connecting with Girona.
