Fall in electricity prices sees inflation in Catalonia ease to 2.7% in February
Consumer Price Index down six tenths of a percentage point compared to January
Inflation in Catalonia fell to 2.7% in February, six tenths of a percentage point lower than in January, according to figures published by Spain's National Statistics Institue (INE) on Thursday.
The decrease in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) can largely be attributed to the fall in electricity prices, down 3.2% on January and down 12% year-on-year.
The price of food fell 0.2% compared to January but is up 4.8% compared to February 2023.
In Spain as a whole, inflation in February stood at 2.8%, down six tenths of a percentage point compared to January.
