Employment in Catalonia continues to break records. In July, 3.83 million workers were registered with Social Security, an increase of 3,362 people compared to June, according to Spain's social security ministry.

Compared to the same month last year, there was a 3.4% increase in the number of registered workers, 126,267 more in total.

This evolution in Catalonia contrasts with the tendency in all of Spain, where work registration has curved after five months of consecutive grow.

However, unemployment has slightly increased in Catalonia, by 2,317, compared to last month, with a total of 327,219 unemployed.

Catalonia is the autonomous community in Spain where unemployment has increased the most. However, compared to the same period last year, unemployment has decreased by 1.2%.

Last month, the unemployment rate improved due to a rebound in the tourism industry. In July, however, a decline in the service sector contributed to an increase in the number of job seekers.
