Reus Airport in southern Catalonia will offer flights to 25 destinations across seven countries this summer, among them new routes from Easyjet to Belfast and London Southend.

The first flight from London Southend to Reus touched down on Tuesday morning, with passengers welcomed to the Costa Daurada with cake and refreshments.

This new route will operate twice a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, until October 25.

Reus now has flights to four London airports: Gatwick, Stansted, Luton and Southend.

The inaugural Easyjet flight from Belfast International to Reus will depart on April 5, with twice weekly flights every Tuesday and Saturday until October.

Ali Gayward, Easyjet UK's Country Manager said: "It's fantastic to launch flights to the charming Catalan city of Reus, providing our customers with even more choice for a summer break. We look forward to welcoming them onboard."
