CGT union calls Glovo strike from Friday to Monday
Action is in support of Asian delivery riders
The CGT union has called a strike for Glovo delivery riders from Friday, July 14 to Monday, July 17.
The union has urged riders working for the Barcelona-based multinational to support strike action organized by delivery riders of Asian origin.
On its social networks, the CGT said that it was a collective of Pakistani, Indian and Bengali riders that called the protest, which the union is supporting.
The Asian riders say that they have been put in a "precarious" position by Glovo and complain that the rider law introduced in Spain in August 2021 "did not take them into account."
The group is also requesting higher rates of pay.
