Cathay Pacific to run regular route between Barcelona and Hong Kong
The Chinese airline announced it will operate four weekly services between both cities beginning next year
The flag carrier of Hong Kong, Cathay Pacific, announced today that its summer service between Hong Kong and Barcelona will become a regular route as of April 15 2018.
The decision comes after the success of this summer, with passenger numbers exceeding expectations, according to Ronald Lam, commercial and cargo manager of the airline.
“The great demand for the summer route that began operating on July 2, and is scheduled until October 28, has been key to the decision of making Barcelona a regular destination,” explained Lam.
From April 15 next year onwards, Cathay Pacific will operate three weekly services between the two cities, to which a fourth service will be added beginning on July 1 2018.
The airline will use Airbus' A350-900 model for the journey, designed for ultra long-haul flights and typically seating around 325 passengers.
