Catalonia granted €3.42 billion from Next Generation EU funds

Catalonia has been granted €3.42 billion from the Next Generation EU funds, 15.4% of what's been allocated to Spain.
By May, the Catalan government had received €2.84 billion, 83% of the total quantity granted, while €1.98 billion of that total have already been spent.
One of the executive's main worries now is the July 23 Spanish snap election, as economy minister Natàlia Mas said.
Politicians are "worried" that the vote could "slow down" the allocation of NextGenerationEU funds.
The distribution of grants increased in the last six months as the financial aid project is "in the middle" of its plan of execution, ending in 2026.
With the arrival of the NextGenerationEU funds, Catalonia has been able to "put strategic projects" in different sectors and territories in motion.
