Catalan inflation drops to 2.2% in March after consecutive months of increases
Prices fall by 0.9 percentage points due to lower electricity and fuel costs

Catalonia's inflation dropped to 2.2% in March after several consecutive months of increases, according to data released by Spain's Statistics Institute on Friday.
Prices fell by nine-tenths last month, breaking a five-month streak of increases and hitting the lowest level since October.
In Spain, inflation stood at 2.3% in March.
The decline is mainly driven by lower electricity and fuel prices.
The Consumer Price Index (IPC in Spanish) shows that prices in Catalonia remained stable when looking at monthly variation compared to February (0%).
Based on figures released on Friday, prices of the category featuring housing, electricity, water, gas, and other fuels, saw an annual decline of 4.7%, compared to the 8.9% registered in February. Meanwhile, transportation was 1.3% more expensive than last year, while the previous month it had reduced its prices by 0.1% compared to 2024.
Barcelona's IPC stood at 2.1%, while in Girona it stood at 2.2%, in Lleida at 2.6%, and Tarragona at 2%.
