Catalan inflation down slightly in November to 3.1%
Rate of change of prices falls three-tenths of a percentage point despite food prices being 8.4% higher than last year
Inflation in Catalonia fell slightly in November to 3.1%, according to Spain's National Statistics Institute (INE).
The rate of change of prices came down three-tenths of a percentage point last month.
The consumer price index (CPI) has fallen slightly despite the fact that food prices remain 8.4% higher than last year.
The price of olive and cooking oil continues to rise, reaching 45.8%, 2.4 points more than in November last year.
Other significant increases include the price of sheep meat, up 10.5%, two points more than in October, and pork, up 11.7%, 1.8 points less.
Legumes and vegetables increased by 14.1% compared to 2.3% in October, while sugar moderated its growth to 11.4%, down 9.7 points from the previous month.
While prices for electricity, gas and other fuels fell by 17.8%, clothing prices rose by 2.3% and rents were stable at 1.8% compared with October.
Transportation prices rose 1.1%, while the annual rate of change for hotels and restaurants was 5.5%, three tenths less, and recreation and culture was 2.7%, two percentage points less than in October.
In Spain, the annual inflation rate was 3.2% in November, three tenths lower than in the previous month.
On the other hand, core inflation, which excludes unprocessed food and energy, fell seven-tenths to 4.5%.
