Catalan exports over €8bn in goods in September after August's drop
Second-best figure for September
Catalan exports rose by 3.4% during September compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching €8.08 billion.
The increase comes after August's drop of 7.3%, according to data from the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism.
Catalonia exported goods worth €8.089 billion during the month, the second-best figure since September 2022, when exports worth €8.220 billion were sold.
Looking at September data alone, it is the second-best total since 2022, when goods worth €5.468 billion were exported.
Exports since the beginning of 2024 have dropped by 2.9% year-on-year with €74.182 billion
On the other hand, sales of food, beverages, and tobacco dropped by 1.8%, to €1.258 billion, while chemical products increased 6.7% compared to last September, up to €2.369 billion.
Spain as a whole saw a 1.9% increase in foreign sales, exceeding €31.597 billion, compared to 2023. This is the second-best figure for September pushed by the historic numbers in food, chemical products, and consumption manufacturing.
