Catalan economy grows 0.9% in Q3, with GDP up 3.8% year-on-year

Catalan growth is higher than Spain's (3.4%) and Europe's (0.7%), driven by services sector, industry, agriculture and construction

The Catalan economy grew by 0.9% in the third quarter of the year, according to preliminary data from the Catalan Statistics Institute (Idescat).  

The year-on-year GDP increase stands at 3.8%, marking a five-tenths rise compared to the second quarter.  

The Catalan growth rate is four-tenths higher than Spain's, which increased by 3.4%, and Europe's, which saw a 0.7% rise.  

This growth is driven by the services sector, which expanded by 4.4%, followed by industry (up 4.3%), agriculture (up 14.4%), and construction (up 2.9%).
