BYD cars to include Catalan language in infotainment system
Softcatalà organization works with Chinese manufacturer to correct translation
Electric cars manufactured by the Chinese company BYD will include the Catalan language in their in-car system, according to l'Aliança, an association that promotes the use of the Catalan language online.
The Chinese brand's infotainment system already has 40 different languages available.
Currently, the language is available on BYD cars using the e-Platform 3.0 system, which includes the SUV Seal. In the coming months, other cars using the D100F system will also have the Catalan language as an option for their infotainment system.
The Softcatalà organization has supervised the first translation proposals made by the BYD. Future software updates will now include such corrections and suggestions.
These updates will be a "priority," as the Chinese manufacturer "confirmed" to the Aliança association.
BYD is China's most successful car manufacturer in terms of sales and the world's second-largest manufacturer of electric vehicles.
The Chinese company is the second in the world, after Tesla, to incorporate the Catalan language.
