Belgian real estate group plans new projects in Catalonia
Equilis expects to invest 200 million euros in construction of two shopping centres
The Belgian real estate group Equilis is planning to build two new shopping centres in Catalonia, with an approximate investment of 200 million euros, it announced on Wednesday.
Equilis already has one project underway, the Finestrelles Shopping Centre just outside of Barcelona in Esplugues de Llobregat, that it plans to open in November. According to Víctor Gómez, the CEO of Equilis in Spain, it will be launched with nearly 100% of the space rented out.
The centre in Esplugues will house fashion brands such as H&M and Zara, as well as a gym, a wide range of restaurants, and a hypermarket. The goal is to receive 8 million visitors in the first year.
If the other new two projects are confirmed, Gómez stated that one of them will have the same characteristics as the shopping centre in Esplugues, while the other one will be smaller.
