Barcelona's L4 metro line has resumed regular service following weeks-long construction works that began on July 27.

The works took place between La Pau and Selva de Mar metro stations and proceeded with "absolute normality," having the "minimum impact possible," according to the Catalan territory ministry.

The works concluded coinciding with the first day of the America's Cup sailing championship in Barcelona.

The public transport authorities worked on improving signs and tracks around the network and making La Pau station more accessible for people with reduced mobility.

The cost has been €2.5 million.

During August, several other metro lines were also under refurbishment, including the L10 North and L2 lines. While the L2 line will resume regular service on Monday, the L10 North line will restart its operations on Saturday, two days earlier than planned.
