Barcelona once again second-best European city for startups

Entrepreneurs consider Barcelona to be the second-best European city to create an emerging business according to the Startup Heatmap Europe 2023 study. 

It is the sixth year in a row that Barcelona occupies this position ahead of cities like Amsterdam, Paris, and Lisbon. 

The study, which places Berlin in the first position, concludes that 17.1% of entrepreneurs would chose Barcelona. 

"The best technological talents continue to prefer Barcelona as one of the best cities to grow their business projects," says Albert Castellanos, Catalan secretary for Business and Competitiveness, about the Startup Heatmap Europe mapping which has been published each year since 2016.
