Barcelona Meeting Point to show off its 'social' side
This year's international real estate fair in the Catalan capital will debate right to housing and role of women in the sector
The annual international real estate fair, Barcelona Meeting Point, will this year stress its "social side" and aims to bring the event "closer to people and the public," according to the organizers, who presented the 2018 edition of the fair yesterday.
"Barcelona Meeting Point is not only a place to take stock and review outlooks but also has to be a place to defend the right to housing," said the fair's president, Pere Navarro, who added that the role of women in the sector, particularly at executive level, will also be a focus.
This year's Meeting Point will take place from October 25 to 28, in Fira de Barcelona's convention venue on Montjuïc, with 280 companies from 21 countries taking part, some 15 more firms than last year, and with 85 different talks.
Navarro said the first two days will be devoted to the professional side of the real estate sector, with the other two days aimed at the general public, and focusing on the role of women in the sector, with a roundtable debate by the group, Women in Real Estate Spain.
Technology in construction sector
Another feature of this edition will be the Proptech Congress, which will be held on October 25 and 26 in parallel to the main event, and which will look into the future challenges facing the sector due to the incorporation of new technology.
