A nationwide strike across German airports has forced several airlines to cancel flights, including those departing from Barcelona and Girona.

Spain's airport management company, AENA, told Catalan News that 71 operations were scheduled for Monday between Catalan and German airports, with Munich and Frankfurt being the most affected.

In total, there were 33 planned arrivals and 32 planned departures from Barcelona, along with four arrivals and two departures from Girona-Costa Brava Airport.

Hundreds of passengers faced flight cancellations, with major airlines such as Lufthansa and Barcelona-based Vueling grounding most of their flights. Low-cost carrier Ryanair also had to cancel some connections between Catalan and German airports.
