Where to watch the America's Cup 2024 in Barcelona
Sailing race taking place from August 22 to October 27 can be seen live from the shore for free
On August 22, the preliminary regatta of the 37th edition of the America's Cup will take place, and from then it will be three months of intense sailing races.
It is the first time that the world's oldest continually contested international sporting competition takes place in Barcelona.
All the races will take place from 2 pm to 4 pm, considering the weather conditions are appropriate.
Here are some of the various places you can watch the regattas and races.
Follow through online stream
The event is offered on television by public broadcasters TV3 and TVE.
The races can also be watched on the America's Cup website, Facebook page and their YouTube live broadcast.
Regattas will also be available through Eurosport.
Beaches and spectator areas
All the teams' bases are located in the Port Vell area, and just outside the port entrance breakwaters the racecourse will take place.
These races can be seen for free from the beaches of Sant Miquel, La Barceloneta, and Somorrostro, as well as from Plaça Rosa dels Vents and Port Olímpic.
There will also be fan zones located in Plaça del Mar and Bogatell.
Organizers also recommend bringing a phone to follow the racing event live.
In addition, the Race Village in Moll de la Fusta will be a big space for spectators, as well as a place for culture and gastronomy.
On the Race Village's stage there will be music performances as well as events with the main sailors of the competing teams. The aim of this space is to bring th event closer to the audiences
Watch the races from the water
If you own a boat, or are planning to rent one, to watch the regattas from the water, there will be certain areas dedicated for crafts or yachts around the racecourse perimeter.
To experience the races from the water, you must register on the organizer's website.
Las Golondrinas boat company also has tickets available to experience the regattas close to the race course, as well as tours of the team's bases from the water.
AC37 Hospitality Club
The Hospitality Club, located in Port Olímpic, offers a luxurious experience with a unique race viewing.
This package also includes locally inspired food menus and signature cocktails.
The prices for the hospitality packages go from €500 to €1,100.
Bastian Beach club
One of the other options is the Bastian Beach club at Barceloneta beach, at a unique location with an interesting culinary option and a large swimming pool.
Located in front of the competition area, the beach club has already welcomed many celebrities and thousands of visitors to follow the sailing competition.
Many will get to see some of the America's Cup athletes enjoying the 'Night Sessions' music events after competing during the day.
