The 37th America's Cup is underway after the first races were held on Thursday off the shore of Barcelona, with thousands following the action live from the beaches and fan zones.
Six sailing teams competed on the first day of the Preliminary Regatta, a warm-up tournament lasting until Sunday, before the real deal starts next week which will last until late October.
The defender and the five challengers have faced each other for the first time in over three years in the AC75 yacht class, which are larger, heavier, and faster boats than those used in the previous edition in 2021.
