Around 50 Barcelona neighbors demonstrated on Thursday against the noise of massive city activities, especially in the Parc del Fòrum area, coinciding with the first big night of the Primavera Sound music festival.

Demonstrators protested near the El Maresme / Fòrum metro station, where hundreds of festival-goers got off the train to go to the show.

The group calls for the “right to relax,” as Enric Navarro, president of the Stop Concerts association, said to the Catalan News Agency (ACN).

Their idea is for these festivals to be moved out of the Catalan capital, and neighbors do not reject filing a new complaint after the one already submitted was shelved.

Neighbors shouted, ‘We want to sleep,’ and chants such as ‘Noise kills.

Protestors say that acoustic pollution is a “health problem” that affects people, but most important, it affects pregnant women and babies, which can see their sleep cut.
