Truck drivers in Spain called off their indefinite strike on Tuesday, the second day of the protest.

Both Spanish and regional authorities noted the "absolute normality" on Spain's roads on both Monday and Tuesday as few haulers participated in the industrial action to call for improved working conditions.

They also demanded that the Spanish government comply with laws regarding costs and loading and unloading vehicles.

The Transport Defense Platform, the group that called the strike, released a statement in which it denounces that truckers have faced "persecution, harassment, and inconceivable forms of coercion" from authorities.

"They haven't respected our right to strike," the group complained.

The protest was only backed by the Transport Defense Platform, and lacked the support of the main truckers associations, CETM and Fenadismer, as well as the CCOO and UGT trade unions.

While a few hundred haulers demonstrated in Madrid on Monday, their protest was not felt in Catalonia.

The Transport Defense Platform was behind an almost three-week protest last March that disrupted supply chains across Spain.
