Antònia Font will kick off Barcelona’s Guitar Festival

Vinicio Capossela, Johny Winter, La Casa Azul, Quique González and Ron Sexsmith are some of the artists that are playing in the festival. The Catalan-speaking indie pop band Antònia Font will kick off the 24th edition of the Guitar Festival BCN on the 20th of February.

Barcelona (ACN).- The Catalan-speaking indie pop band Antònia Font will kick off the 24th edition of the Guitar Festival BCN on the 20th of February. The band from Mallorca will give a concert at the Teatre Artèria Paral·lel focused on their new album ‘Vostè és aquí’, released this year. Furthermore, the concert will have a second part with themes chosen by their fans through Facebook, with a participation process open from January the 1st to the 15th of February. Antònia Font are one of the most popular bands that sing in the Catalan language and have a unique style combining a clean and experimental sound with lyrics on common situations with surreal elements referring to cosmonauts and pop culture. One of the main names of the festival is the Italian singer-songwriter Vinicio Capossela.


Other leading figures and bands include the Albino bluesman Johnny Winter (on the 24th of April), the catchy pop of La Casa Azul, and the Spanish singer-songwriter Quique González (the 26th of April), who is unveiling a new album. González’s new album is called ‘Delantera Mítica’, registered in Nashville, Tennessee. Lastly, the Canadian author Ron Sexsmith (the 23rd of February) will also be presenting his latest album ‘Forever Endeavour’.
