A total of 78% of business executives in Catalonia forecast that sales will increase this year, according to a report released on Tuesday entitled ‘Spain Perspectives 2018.’ Meanwhile, 14% of the executives believe sales will stabilize.

Although the conclusions of the study come from a survey carried out last November and December, when the political conflict in the country was at peak crisis point, 44% of managers of Catalan companies view the situation as “not so good.” For 32% of bosses, the economic environment is “positive,” while 24% perceive the political situation as “harmful.”

The annual report has been elaborated through a survey of 265 businessmen and executives in Catalonia throughout the last two months of 2017, during the period when around 3,000 companies moved their head offices out of the country.
