Barcelona (ACN).- Today the Catalan Government approved an initiative to create funds in order to cover pensions and alimentary compensation in cases of family separation when the couple member who was in charge of paying does not do so. The coverage will however not take effect until 2011. The Minister for Social Action, Carme Capdevila, explained that the compensations would be given out in advance, where the Catalan Government will then receive 100% of this money. People who are not already receiving pensions through as judicial route and those with a monthly salary of less than 854 euros will be able to receive these pensions. Beneficiaries will receive a maximum of 285 euros per child. Some 1,300 families could benefit from this 9 million euro proposal.
