A new platform offering guidance and training on how to demonstrate peacefully and avoid violent incidents during protests was presented on Wednesday.

En peu de pau (On a peace footing) brings together groups and organizations aiming to consolidate the peaceful demonstrations that have taken place in Catalonia recently during the political crisis between governments in Madrid and Barcelona.

The platform will use its website and social media to publish information and instructions to help ensure that the public protests arising out of the Catalan self-determination process take place without violent incident.

All the groups in En peu de pau have participated in or organized demonstrations or support pacifist causes. They include the likes of Centre UNESCO, the Catalan National Assembly, Òmnium Cultural, the CIEMEN ethnic minorities association, and the Committees of Defense of the Referendum.
