Jurek Kuczkiewicz, the senior journalist who interviewed Carles Puigdemont for Belgian newspaper Le Soir, has said that whatever happens regarding the extradition case against the deposed Catalan president and his ministers in Brussels, there will be “political turmoil.”

“Any of the decisions the judge will take, there will be political turmoil because if he is extradited it will be very spectacular on a European level,” Kuczkiewicz said.

“Publicly very few leaders have said, but everyone knows, that it’s very unnoble to have political leaders jailed for their political activity,” he added. He explained that this is what the defence lawyers will try to convince the Belgian judge.
