Blanes offers nights at hotels and restaurant menus for 12 euros
The initiative is inspired by 'Girona 10'. It lasts from June 8th to the 10th so as to promote the Costa Brava town as a commercial and tourist destination. Blanes s offering hotel nights and menus in restaurants for 12 euros as well as discounts at some local shops of 12%. 90 commercial and service establishments are participating in the initiative, which includes a shopping night.
Blanes (ACN).- From June 8th to the 10th Blanes, a town on the Costa Brava, is offering hotel nights and menus in restaurants for 12 euros as well as discounts at some local shops of 12%. After the success of ‘Girona10’, the coastal town has decided to copy the idea in order to promote the municipality as a commercial and tourist destination. Additionally, some camp-sites and apartments will take part in the promotion too. The day of the inauguration, June 8th, a special event -Blanes Shopping Night- is going on, when the shops associated with the initiative are open until midnight.
90 commercial and service establishments; 45 bars and restaurants, 18 accommodation companies, 8 hotels, 3 hostels, 4 camp-sites and 3 apartments are participating in the promotion 'Blanes 12'. The town hall has programmed diverse complementary activities such as performances for children, exhibitions, guided visits and live plays in the street during the weekend.
On Sunday, a new edition of the traditional 'Catifes de Corpus' is scheduled. The activity consists in decorating some of the streets in the town with carpets made from flowers. The strategy of promoting the city by offering discounts in several commercial establishments and hotels has been increasingly used lately. Apart from 'Girona 10' and 'Blanes 12', Sant Boi de Llobregat near Barcelona, held a similar initiative, under the slogan ‘Crazy Days’, with hotel nights at 10 euros, among other offers.
