Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week has kicked off, with some big names in the world of wedding designers on the agenda. The international event was inaugurated by Catalan company Pronovias (novia meaning wife or girlfriend in English,) presenting a new collection of wedding dresses with a garden and floral theme designed by Hervé Moreau of French origin.

Showing off the new wedding wear on the catwalk were international models Romee Strijd, Cindy Bruna, Blanca Padilla, as well as Blanca Romero and her daughter Lucia Rivera.

Pronovias’ 2019 collection features designs reminiscent of nature. “What we are going to have is diversity. In the collection there are proposals for brides who want to get married on the beach, in a garden, or in a church,” said Pronovias artistic director Hervé Moreau. The French designer also emphasized the mix of nature and youth in the new line of wedding attire.

The 28th edition of Barcelona Bridal Fashion Week (BBFW) features 27 national and international companies such as Rosa Clarà and Jordi Dalmau. Organized by the Fira de Barcelona, and taking place at its Montjuïc site in Plaça Espanya, events run up until April 29. Between April 27 and 29, more than 370 brands will be featured at the Montjuïc exhibition space. This year is also hosting the second ELLE international bride awards.
