The internationally recognized Catalan singer Joan Manuel Serrat is back. Author of the famous song, ‘Mediterráneo’, the artist has announced a new tour in 2018, which will be about his album of the same name that he released in 1971. The 74-year-old Serrat will visit 14 cities in the tour, including Barcelona on December 18 and December 19. He will also play in the legendary Olympia music hall in Paris on May 12, along with cities such as Madrid, Seville and Bilbao.

With the tickets for the concerts going on sale on February 1, Serrat will play the songs on that 1971 album, including ‘Lucía’, ‘Aquellas pequeñas cosas’, ‘Barquito de papel’ and the famous ‘Mediterráneo’. This song established his reputation internationally, and has become symbolic in Catalonia and many other parts in the world. For instance, in the concert in support of refugees held in Barcelona last February, there was a choral rendition of the song by the artists taking part in the event, which was attended by over 15,000 people.
