Radiohead, PJ Harvey and LCD Soundsystem will headline Barcelona’s 2016 Primavera Sound 2016

The full line up for Primavera Sound’s 2016 edition was announced this Thursday through an animated film on YouTube, which was followed online by thousands of fans worldwide. Besides Radiohead, PJ Harvey, and the recently reformed American rock band LCD Soundsystem, Suede, Animal Collective, Sigur Rós, Beirut and former beach boy Brian Wilson will also perform at the festival, which is considered one of the most important in the independent music industry. Last year, more than 190,000 people attended the festival, which takes place over 8 different stages inside Barcelona’s Forum Park, right along the seafront. Primavera Sound 2016 will be held from the 2nd to the 4th of June and tickets for all three days will range from 175 to 195 euros.

Barcelona (CNA).- Nearly 200 artists will perform at Barcelona’s Primavera Sound 2016, which is considered the most international musical festival in Southern Europe and a global point of reference for both indie and pop music fans alike. 8 different stages will offer non-stop music from 5pm in the day until into the next morning. This year, Radiohead, PJ Harvey and the recently reformed American rock band LCD Soundsystem will top the bill, together with Suede, Animal Collective, Sigur Rós, Beirut and John Carpenter, amongst many others. From the 2th to the 5th of June, more than 190,000 people are expected to attend the festival, which takes place inside Barcelona’s Forum Park, right along the seafront. Primavera Sound 2016 will be held from the 2nd to the 4th of June and tickets for all three days will range from 175 to 195 euros.

The era-defining British band Radiohead will present their new album at the festival, New Yorkers LCD Soundsystem will celebrate their return to the stage, five years after they announced their disbandment, and rock icon PJ Harvey and former Beach Boys leader Brian Wilson will also be on the bill.

Sigur Ros’ experimental and dreamy rock will also be present at Primavera Sound 2016, together with Australian band Tame Impala, whose latest album has wooed both the public and the critics.

The pop-rock section will be completed by nineties band Suede, French duo Air, The Last Shadow Puppets (the supergroup resulting from the collaboration between Alex Turner and Miles Kane), American band Beach House, the post rock of Explosions in the Sky, Beirut’s ethno-pop, Richard Hawley’s classic rock, Dinosaur Jr’s noise rock, one of the key bands of the current indie scene, Deerhunter, and one of the first shows from filmmaker John Carpenter.

Barcelona’s Primavera Sound 2016 will also count amongst its acts hip-hop artists such as Pusha T, Action Bronson and Jay Rock, amongst many others.

The electronic music offering will be led by German band Moderat, Kiasmos and Floating points, to name a few.

Despite its highly international line up, Primavera Sound also includes Catalan bands. This is the case for pop band Manel, folk singer Joana Serrat and Los Chichos, one of the most popular Spanish rumba bands.

The three-day pass costs €175 up until the 3th of February. The price will then rise to €185 until the 5th of May and tickets sold in the final window for purchase will cost €195 for the three days.
