It’s been three months since eight deposed Catalan ministers were sent to prison; two of them are still in pre-trial jail. And they won’t be out anytime soon. Today, the judge in charge of the independence case decided to keep Home Affairs Minister Joaquim Forn in jail, as he had done for vice president Oriol Junqueras. He did so, stating that Forn could repeat the offenses he is accused of: basically, declaring independence. This, although the official already stepped down as an MP. A university professor helps us look into the issue, and also examine whether the leaders accused of rebellion by the Spanish authorities could be barred from office - even before trial.
