Barcelona (ACN).- Sony is restructuring its entire group. In this new strategy the Japanese company is thinking about closing its television assembling factory in Viladecavalls, next to Barcelona. The factory’s facilities may be turned over to the auto parts company Ficosa and the construction company Comsa-Emte after its closure. Neither company has confirmed their interest in acquiring the facilities.

Catalan Minister for Innovation, Universities and Businesses, Josep Huguet, considers the turn over as a positive way out. Sony was already thinking about closing the Viladecavalls factory in 2009, but last minute negotiations changed the company’s initial plans.
