The president of the Catalan business association CECOT, Antoni Abad, stated that “the greatest legal certainty” that politicians can offer to the business world is “dialogue” and accused the Spanish government of “not exploring solutions”. During the 23rd “Nit de l'Empresari” (celebration of business leaders), the president of the Catalan business association made a speech in which he urged politicians to open a “dialogue” in order to find a solution to the current political situation in Catalonia.

Abad also stressed that the “Catalan business world supports Catalonia’s institutions” and highlighted that “political conflicts can only be solved politically". “Otherwise, it would be recklessness,” said Abad. "The foundations of the system fail and the most basic resource of a democracy is dialogue," he pointed out. Abad also made a call for “calm” against uncertainty.
